April 25, 2014 - We are pleased to announce that Jeremy has been invited to be the 2014 Keynote Speaker for the Utah Board of Juvenille Justice's Do the Write Thing awards luncheon to be held on April 25, 2014.

What is the Do the Write Thing campaign about?
All across America, students are rising to the challenge of doing something to end youth violence. The Do the Write Thing Challenge gives middle school students an opportunity to examine the impact of youth violence on their lives. Through classroom discussions and writings, students communicate what they think should be done to reduce youth violence. In addition, they make personal commitments to do something about this problem.

Why We Love the Olympics

Having grown up around the Olympics and with many Olympic athletes as friends, coaches, mentors and associates, I have seen and felt the power that the Games bring into this world. And it is a wonderful thing.

Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic movement, once noted that the Games are a celebration of the “springtime of humanity.” Every four years (or one "Olympiad") the world comes together in a renewal of hope and dreams to watch our best compete in an athletic spectacle that has no rival, one that is designed to promote one universal goal: peace.

Like you, I have my favorite moments from past Games, from watching these "heroes and gods" compete in cities like Los Angeles, Calgary, Lillehammer, Atlanta, and Sydney. The Games became much more personal when, after beginning bobsled in 1996, I watched friends and associates compete in Nagano, Salt Lake City, Beijing, Vancouver and London. As I let the wonderful spirit of the Games influence my life, I found myself aiming higher, dreaming bigger and hoping more.

With those thoughts in mind, here are (in my opinion) 10 Reasons Why We Love the Games

1. We Love to Cheer Our Athletes

2. We Thrill In Their Victories

3. We Feel the Agony of Their Losses

Appreciating Life's Teammates

Like so many Americans I spent this past Sunday, June 16, surrounded by my amazing family, especially the man honored on Father's Day, our Dad (who if you have met him looks like George Bush, Jr.). Now I have to tell you, my family jokingly quips that we are the only functionally-dysfunctional family you'll ever meet. In fact, we often say that we put the FUN in dysfunctional.

Joking aside, I love my family. From my two wonderful parents to my three siblings, plus a wide assortment of cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, but as I sat there yesterday thinking how blessed I am I realized that my "family" consists of so much more than bloodlines. There are my incredible bobsled teammates who have meant so much to me on and off the ice. There are classmates who got me through junior high, high school and college. There are the friends who have become as close to me as any blood relative. There are coaches, trainers, church leaders, teachers, neighbors and the list goes on and on.
